At a pitch competition a representative from Granada Television has told me it has potential as a live action series.

To Serve and Protect to wacky effect on the Science Fiction frontier. The comic adventures of a competency challenged Captain and Crew. 3D animation. Wrote series bible including character descriptions and episode synopsis. Recruited Emmy Award winning artist, Andrew Harlow to design characters from descriptions. MARCH 00 - JUNE 00 SCREENPLAY    STAR TREK: VOYAGER    "SAGE"
     While a crippled Voyager flees a trap set by privateers Neelix gets abducted by a mysterious stranger.
      Read by Exec. Prod. Brannon Braga, Co-Producer Bryan Fuller, and actor Ethan Phillips. The action packed story upgraded Neelix, a problematic series character.
Judged a surprisingly good spec. and considered for story purchase, but they eventually passed. It was the series' last season when Braga handed off Exec. Prod. to Ken Biller which probably worked against the chances for my script. I believe that some of its ideas and influence can be seen in the last Neelix episode "Homestead," where Neelix shakes off the incompetent bumbling and finally plays the hero.

 

FEB. 99 SCREENPLAY  VOLTRON: THE THIRD DIMENSION "DOOM TAKES A HOLIDAY"
The comic relief villains decide to build a robot and go after the Voltron Force. You know what? It almost works!
Writer/Producer of Dan Dare, Bob Forward, read it. Although fully staffed, he said that if he got a second show, I could submit with the writers. A spec script.

 

JAN. 98 SCREENPLAY     THE NAKED UNIVERSE:  "A FISTFUL OF ASTEROIDS"

The Naked Universe
Rainbow Studios 		     It's high noon in outer space when our heroes build an asteroid killing ray gun and go hunting for trouble.
     I saw that Rainbow Studio's series promo, The Naked Universe, was struggling to be funny. I wrote a follow-on script that punched up the humor, refined their characters, and extended it to a half hour episode. Earl Jarred, head of the studio, read it.
     They requested episode synopses, THE NOT SO JOLLY ROGER, EXPRESS DELIVERY, WOMEN OF FASHION AND STEEL. I also wrote revised versions of their characters. Rainbow Studios requested that I write an entire script on spec, if they sold the series I would be offered a writing position on the show.
