| MARCH 00 - JUNE 00 | SCREENPLAY STAR TREK: VOYAGER "SAGE" |

While a crippled Voyager
flees a trap set by privateers Neelix gets abducted by a mysterious stranger. Read by Exec. Prod. Brannon Braga, Co-Producer Bryan Fuller, and actor Ethan Phillips. The action packed story upgraded Neelix, a problematic series character. Judged a surprisingly good spec. and considered for story purchase, but they eventually passed. It was the series' last season when Braga handed off Exec. Prod. to Ken Biller which probably worked against the chances for my script. I believe that some of its ideas and influence can be seen in the last Neelix episode "Homestead," where Neelix shakes off the incompetent bumbling and finally plays the hero. |
